Inheritance of faith(11)
The Clarks, an American missionary husband and wife, came to Japan to spread the Gospel. They spent a year in Kumamoto, then in 1892, they moved to Hiroshima-dori avenue in Miyazaki City, where they spread the teachings of Christianity.
While proselytizing, the couple opened a kindergarten and Hyuga Kunmoin (later called the Miyazaki Prefectural School for the Blind). They also opened their home to schoolgirls and performed voluntary social services, including teaching them English, sewing and Western cooking.
