Inception of food culture

In the various parts of Kyushu, people eat and drink different noted products.
Many of them came to Japan through interaction with foreign countries. For example, tea arrived with an envoy to Tang China and shochu via trade with the Ryukyu Kingdom.
These foods and drinks interacted with the climate of Kyushu over the years to take on new flavors and become the versions known today. A trip spent learning this history while tasting these noted products will stimulate all five of your senses.
