A friendship to last 10 million years: Chinese revolutionary Sun Yat-sen and the Miyazaki brothers

In China in 1911, the Xinhai Revolution, in which imperial rule was overthrown and a democratic republic was established, took place under the leadership of Sun Yat-sen.
Miyazaki Toten, who was born and raised in Arao City, Kumamoto Prefecture, supported Sun Yat-sen his entire life, and Sun called him a great Japanese revolutionary who always worked hard to improve life in China.
Sun visited Arao City in 1913 after the revolution succeeded and gave a lecture. He said, “I believe if China and Japan can maintain a friendship like that between Toten, Yazo and myself, they can maintain a harmonious relationship, develop and enjoy happiness for 10 million years.”
Note: Yazo is Miyazaki Toten’s older brother.
