In 2015, the movie "Hand in the Glove," a joint international production between Kumamoto City and Thailand, was filmed entirely in Kumamoto locations, and it was officially invited for submission to the World Premieres Film Festival in the Philippines.
It’s a road movie whose story involves Prince Ariel of the Kingdom of Levelle traveling incognito to Kumamoto to spend a brief holiday.
In the film, the Thai cinematographer shows streetcars, chic streets and magnificent, beautiful nature including Aso, all from the viewpoint of a non-Japanese.
“Hand in the Glove” tells the story of a prince named Ariel spending his holiday in Kumamoto, so it was filmed in various places around Kumamoto Prefecture.
