Inheritance of faith

Religious cultures including Buddhism and Christianity were brought to Kyushu. Among the evangelists who came to Japan to spread these faiths, there were some great men deserving of respect. They included some who spread not only their religious creeds but also pharmacology, medicine and other new knowledge, and people who worked to provide relief to residents and engage in social services. Travel can teach modern people much about the passion and kindness of these people who made great efforts in this era also marked by such misfortunes as the prohibition and suppression of Christianity.
