Removing Utility Poles

We promote no-utility pole from the perspective of improving disaster prevention of roads, securing safe and comfortable traffic clearance, forming good landscapes, improving reliability of information and communication networks, and promoting tourism, etc.

So far, 19.8 km of electric wires were already buried underground in Fukuoka City, Kurume City, OmutaCity, Miyama City and UkihaCity. Presently, 6.4 km of which are in service.

The traffic volume of bicycles and pedestrians within 2 km area between Route 3 Kashisandoguchiintersection and NajimabashiEast intersection is large which is approximately 3,400 bicycle/person per 12 hours.

In this section, bicycles and pedestrians intermingle, particularly, since the sidewalk at up line is narrow, passing of bicycles and pedestrians is difficult.

Therefore, the sidewalk in the up line will be widened and bicycle traffic zone will be made within sidewalks in the up and down lines together with the advancement of removing utility poles of this section.
